The poster presentation will take place on Saturday, May 10, at 12:45 PM during the Guided Poster Tours. The studies focus on feasibility, effectiveness, and participant outcomes, with one comparing two different populations, emphasising practical implementation in healthcare and coaching settings.
After the presentation you can read more about it here on the blog.

The Body Double could have a coffee while you are at it.
Body doubling is a productivity strategy where an individual works on a task in the presence of someone else. This other person provides a supportive environment that can help increase focus and motivation. The body double doesn’t necessarily participate in the task but serves as an anchor to support the individual to stay on track. The ” supportive enviroment” doesn´t have to mean the physical environmnet, the room you are in.The effect can be just as big remote; two friends calling eachother, or on social media.Your body double could potentially be drinking coffee while you are accompliching a shore or a task. Both agree to the terms – should we doing it together, at the same time or not.Should the Body Double just get you started or be there with you as you do it. There ar no rules here.
Research on body doubling as a strategy is very limited ( if any) but many individuals with ADHD and other conditions have reported it as an effective tool for enhancing productivity and to beat procrastination.
The psychological basis of body doubling is probably linked to several factors:
- Accountability: Having someone present can create a sense of responsibility/ accountability making it more likely for individuals to stay fon task and follow through.
- Social facilitation: The mere presence of another person can enhance performance on tasks.
- Dopamine regulation: The social interactions during body doubling can activate the brain’s dopamine reward system, potentially increasing motivation and focus. Maybe also the thoughts process of accomplishing a tasks increases access to dopamin. We know that anticipation does.
The term ”body doubling” was first coined in 1996 by Linda Anderson, an ADHD Coach in the US. Linda Anderson is one of the pioneers in ADHD Coaching.
An ADHD Coach can be your body double and /or your accountability partner, long term or short term. But the ADHD Coach will propobly encourage you to find a Body Double outside of the coaching relationship, and you talk about the experience of the Biody Double effect with your ADHD Coach.

Choose the right ADHD Coach
Finding the right ADHD Coach is crucial. A certified ADHD Coach not only supports individuals in developing strategies and improving executive functioning but also has extensive knowledge of ADHD and its challenges. They apply their expertise in a collaborative and exploratory process to identify clients’ unique paths for growth.
However, not all coaches are equally qualified. To ensure ethical and truly supportive coaching, it’s important to verify the coach’s certifications, experience, and coaching approach before making a decision.
Why certification matters
Not all coaching certifications are the same. While many coaches may call themselves ADHD coaches, only those certified by recognised organisations have completed rigorous training, practical coaching hours, and assessments of their skills.
Look for certifications from:
PAAC – Professional Association of ADHD Coaches
The only organisation exclusively dedicated to certifying ADHD coaches.
Ensures high professional standards in coaching skills and a deep understanding of ADHD.
Certifications:
- CACP – Certified ADHD Coach Practitioner
- PCAC – Professional Certified ADHD Coach
- MCAC – Master Certified ADHD Coach
ICF – International Coaching Federation
The largest global coaching organisation.
Focuses on strong coaching skills but does not specialise in ADHD coaching or ADHD.
Certifications:
- ACC – Associate Certified Coach
- PCC – Professional Certified Coach
- MCC – Master Certified Coach
An ADHD Coach with a recognised certification provides more than just coaching—they bring specialised knowledge, ethical standards, and co-creates strategies with you that can make a real difference. Taking the time to carefully verify certifications, experience, and coaching style will help you find the best coach for your needs.

ADHD Coaching Education Marie Enback
Choosing the Right ADHD Coach training
ADHD Coaching is a hands-on profession that requires more than theoretical knowledge. To truly master the skills, it’s essential to engage in live, interactive, and collaborative learning experiences. I strongly advocate for in-person programs and/or live training and mentoring via video calls. Automated or self-paced programs fail to provide the practical application and real-time feedback necessary for building the skills required to support clients effectively in a collaborative coaching process.
When choosing an ADHD Coach training program, take the time to evaluate not only the program’s structure and level of interaction but also the qualifications of its trainers. Trainers should hold advanced certifications and have significant experience as practicing ADHD coaches.Consider whether the program provides hands-on practice, mentorship opportunities, and a clear pathway to certification through reputable organisations.
Evaluating an ADHD Coach training Program
The program should offer:
-
- Opportunities for supervised / mentored coaching practice.
- Sessions with personalised feedback to enhance your skills.
- Live, interactive sessions and collaborative learning experiences.
- in-person options and/or live mentoring via video calls.
Trainers certification and experience:
Ensure trainers:
- Have significant experience as practicing ADHD coaches.
- Hold certifcation PCAC or MCAC by PAAC (The Professional Association for ADHD Coaches).
- Or hold certifications PCC or MCC by the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
Pathway to Certification: Ensure the program provides a clear route to certification through reputable organisations like PAAC or ICF.
Note: PAAC is the only organization certifying ADHD-specific coaches, while ICF is the largest global organization for generic coaching.
